Message Of Christening

Adios JORGE

Jorge Lagos was born in Buenos Aires on August 12, 1918. Was acting within the scope of jazz from an early age with the most outstanding musicians of our environment. He was always big fan of gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt and his famous "Quintet of the Hot Club of France." Jorge said that in the 1950 time he settled in Paris with French gypsies convivivió. He said there had an opportunity to personally meet Django Reinhardt (1910-1953) before his death and fully empathize style known as "gypsy jazz." On his return to Argentina was the group "Jorge Lagos and his Hot Four" with Alfonso Ferramosca on clarinet, guitar Abel accompanying Lescano, Jorge Boetto on bass and drummer Jorge alternately Cichero and Jorge Padilla. With this training, similar to one that popularized Django Reinhardt, enjoyed great success, recording for the Odeon label LP "WELCOME MR. JAZZ", a widely available album that quickly sold out in stores. Throughout his long career Jorge Lagos has been presented in different configurations with jazz greats as Oscar German guitarist, violinist Chile Hernán Oliva, the pianist Enrique "Mono" Villegas, the pianist, conductor and arranger Lalo Schiffrin , el guitarrista norteamericano Joe Pass, el pianista austríaco Friedrich Gulda y muchos otros.
